Been watching this great show set during the Ming dynasty. Really cool for those who like royalty shows. I’ve never been a fan of Alex Su shows … but i realise that he does very good ancient (gu dai) shows. This shows really rocks man.. haha i think this is the 3rd time i’m watching :) if i do badly during for mid-years its probably because of this. Found out and got addicted to it only 2 days before GP paper.

Found out about another show! Yang Jia Jiang! but the story isn’t true to the book or historic facts. and its a bit slow. and weird ending. but the first few episodes is nice.

Don’t know whether its age but i’m beginning to be love Chinese. I think its really cool to be Chinese and to speak the language. Chinese history is so interesting so are the stories like Yang Jia Jiang.

It’s been a long time since I last wrote.

Its the holidays though a bit too late to say that. 1 more week to exams! I am so dead for midyears. don’t know what has gotten into me but i can’t get to work and i bet the whole class is working very hard – except me of course. hope i don’t end up with a U. there goes my hopes of getting ‘A’s.

Got allergies yesterday! horrible experience. and it wasn’t at home but in my maths tutor’s house. i think she was pretty freaked out. :P my eyes started swelling and after 20 mins i couldn’t see! checked myself out in the mirror after she fetched me to my grandma’s house. hmm.. it was worse than i though. and i couldn’t breathe! i think my trachea swelled too. yet another day wasted!

and i haven’t even started on literature and econs yet! oh gosh.

was checking somethings out the other day and came across Daniel Wu’s blog. he is soo totally cute (if not for the fact that he’s 30+ )

Its really questionable whether Singapore’s ministers really love their country. By competing with the private sector wage rates, which are in general already lower than in the civil service, they seem (emphasis on this) to be trying to prove that 1. the civil service is less prestigious than the public and 2. people stay to serve their country with vested interests in the money it offers. The irony of it all is how much the education ministry invests in national education. National education is in theory workable, in reality, the leaders of the country must set that example.

A praying mantis just flew in and create a big commotion. And I killed it with insecticide. It looked exactly like that! and when I moved it turned its head and looked straight at me. You can actually see the eyes.

reality

Have you ever looked up from a book and suddenly feel as if you had left yourself in the story and physically landed in another fiction?
I was reading this book (forgot the name) on the Amish on the bus, half squashed by this really fat woman sitting next to me and willing her to get off the bus, which she did not until the stop before mine, and totally engrossed in the Amish world. Then I decided to look up and check where I was and it was a really “body-leaving” experience, as if I didn’t really belong in this world and Amish world was where I belong. Curious effect although it didn’t last long – I was suffering from motion sickness.

will i regret?

ultimately, i still let the council down. is this a curse? will i regret neglecting council at the end of it? or if i didn’t will i regret not neglecting council? Life is as such.

Mist shrouding white pines in someone’s backyard

It reminds me of Great Expectations, the scene where Pip tries to smuggle Magwitch out of England. Such a beautiful sight yet there’s that daunting feeling that something is going to happen at that very moment. That a horse carriage is going to pull up and drop of a lady in a black cloak that flies as she quickly walks to the bridge to meet a secret person (her lover?) or drop a parcel of. Then, she turns her bonnet head both directions before returning to the carriage. And the carriage which is also black by the way turns at a bend ahead and disappears and all that is left is the eery tranquility and apprehension heralding of another great moment when the unknown completes the transaction.

The picture speaks of the desolate countryside. And the mist calls for caution in the future. What is beyond that bridge, pure blankness, whiteness and muffling of the danger in the future. Or maybe its just for one to fill up.

Hello.

me.jpg

A very ugly picture of me but better than the others! Lol…

I have decided to change my blog and move away from blogspot. The feeling of using a lesser known whatever (or at least to me) feel less stressful. The beginning of the new term has sparked new thoughts on what I want in life and the kind of discipline I have to instill in myself. Common tests results were a great shock; I’ve never done so badly for an exam before and prided in passing exams without much effort. It just goes to show that there’s no award without hard work.

I am so glad that Igloo anniversary is over! It was a great flop and I admit that I’m kind of embarassed. Then again, I feel that I didn’t have the energy and power to push for better programmes  and I kind of feel guilty about it. Had EXCO interviews on wednesday. After that it kind of hit me when I was on my way home – the 15th term is ending and this is precisely the kind of feeling that Gerald was telling us about. I believe that the 16th will continue doing a good job in maintaining the increasing improvement in the image and function of the CT Council. Come to think of it I think the change in the type of manpower we have in the council is a great leap forward and I think that in the future the 15th will come to be thought of as the batch that revolutionised CT Council.
